Rider of the Year Page

* Please Note.   For those of you who only compete in the Show Jumping Events and Games Competitions held at Horse Haven all gain points.   Winners take home more points!!

1. Rider of the Week

There are 2 categories for Rider of the Week:

Junior (Up to age 16 years)
Senior (16 years and above)

To qualify for Rider of the Week, the rider must have ridden the week before and be attentive, enthusiastic
and well behaved throughout the lesson.  In addition, 2 or more of the following criteria must be met:

1.    Performs an exercise, or exercises, particularly well.
2.    Overcomes a fear.
3.    Demonstrates great confidence when taking part in an unfamiliar activity.
4.    Shows sympathetic riding when required (i.e. if horse nervous/excitable etc.) and praises or reprimands the 
     horse as necessary to help improve it.
5.    Improves 1 or more positional faults, and continues this improvement throughout lesson.
6.    Answers questions asked of them to the best of their ability.
